City Clinic’s Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery department is dedicated to treating conditions that affect the hand, wrist, and arm. Our expert surgeons use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to relieve pain, restore function, and improve mobility for patients of all ages. From repetitive strain injuries to fractures and nerve damage, our comprehensive treatments help patients regain strength and dexterity, improving their quality of life.
Carpal Tunnel Release
The median nerve is compressed at the wrist in carpal tunnel syndrome, resulting in pain, numbness, and/or tingling in the hand. Our carpal tunnel release procedure alleviates this pressure by creating more room in the wrist for the nerve using either endoscopic or small cut techniques. This treatment minimizes the symptoms dramatically allowing the patients to use their hands comfortably and functionally again.
Dupuytren’s Contracture Surgery
Dupuytren’s contracture refers to an abnormal shortening of the skin with its underlying fascia in the palm of the hand leading to an inwards bending of fingers. In surgery we will aim to cut or remove the tissue to aid in the extension of the fingers and even help with the overall use of the hands. By correcting this, we promote the better use of patients’ hands without any constraints as regards flexibility.
Trigger Finger Release
If there is inflammation of the tendons on a patient’s digit, commonly in the thumb, making it hard to retract the thumb, he/she suffers from trigger finger. The trigger finger release procedure that we offer treats this condition by enlarging the confines of the tendon sheath to be able to accommodate the tendon inside as it slides. This is a straightforward outpatient treatment that instantly relieves the patient allowing for smooth movement of the affected finger minimizing the chances of reoccurrence.
Tendon and Nerve Repair
Injuries to the tendons and nerves of the hand and upper extremity can result from trauma or repetitive strain, impacting strength, sensation, and movement. Our team specializes in tendon and nerve repair procedures to restore function. Using precise techniques, we reconnect damaged tendons and nerves to promote healing, enabling patients to regain grip strength, coordination, and sensation.
Hand Fracture Repair
Hand fractures require specialized care to ensure proper healing and prevent long-term stiffness or deformity. Our surgeons perform hand fracture repairs using minimally invasive techniques and stable fixation methods, including pins, plates, or screws as necessary. This approach stabilizes the bone, encourages effective healing, and allows patients to return to daily activities with full function.
City Clinic’s Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery team is committed to providing expert, patient-centered care, from initial diagnosis through post-operative rehabilitation. Our goal is to relieve pain, improve functionality, and support recovery, helping each patient regain confidence and full use of their hands and arms.
